Jill Petricca (flute and piccolo) has been the premier flutist on the North Coast for 30 years, and is principal with the Eureka Symphony, and has performed and conducted the Scotia Band. She can also be heard playing jazz saxophone with SquarPeg, Holly and the IVs and Sunset Bay Jazz Festival. She also plays clarinet and trombone in her role as music specialist at Redwood Preparatory Charter School.
Michael Kibbe (oboe and English horn) has a compositional output numbering over 250 works, for winds, strings, keyboards, orchestra and band. He was in the Los Angeles area music business for over 40 years, as a player and composer, working in film, radio and live performance. He is in the Eureka Symphony as a player and as Music Librarian, and has joined with various groups at Humboldt State University.
Paul Cummings (clarinet) is Professor of Music at Humboldt State University where he conducts the Wind Ensemble and is coordinator of the music education program. As a clarinetist, he has appeared with the Oregon Wind Ensemble, Master Sinfonia Chamber Orchestra, the Cabrillo College Symphonic Band and the Eureka Symphony. His articles have been published in the Musical Quarterly.
Aaron Lopez (bassoon) received his B.A. in Music from Humboldt State University with an emphasis on bassoon and saxophone. He is currently a member of the Humboldt Symphony, HSU Wind Ensemble, Scotia Band, and is principal bassoonist of the Eureka Symphony. He is also active in chamber music groups.
Anwyn Halliday (horn) graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in music from Humboldt State University in 2012. Since then she has played Baroque trumpet, rock music and everything in between. She is currently a member of the Eureka Symphony, and has appeared in local chamber music performances.
Daniela Mineva is hailed by critics as a "vibrant and expressive performer who could steal the show in every concert" (New York Times). She has appeared at some of the most prestigious venues in Bulgaria, USA, China, Italy, France, Greece, Russia, Germany, and Costa Rica. Dr. Mineva has commissioned and premiered works by both young and established composers. A devoted teacher, she gives master classes throughout the USA, Europe, Asia, and South America.
Born in Bulgaria, Daniela began piano lessons at the age of five with her mother. She graduated from Sofia Music Academy with a Bachelor of Music and Master of Music in Piano Performance and Choral Conducting. She holds degrees and certificates in Piano Performance and the Outstanding Graduate Diploma from the University of North Texas, Northwestern University and the Eastman School of Music. She has worked closely with Emmanuel Ax, Pamela Frank, Paul Badura-Skoda. A dedicated educator, she is currently Piano Professor at Humboldt State University, Director of the North Coast Piano Festival and Sequoia Chamber Music Workshop. Daniela judges many national and international competitions.
Most recently, she has performed at the Beijing Concert Hall, Renmin Festival, Beijing, China and the Fortuna Concert Series. 197
